JOB DESCRIPTION

Vetting/editing English text drafted by Dutch authors, to arrive at 100% acceptable English.

The job entails revising e-mails, reports, correspondence etc., all directly drafted in English, with no Dutch source texts available.

All English triggered by the various different consultants, secretaries and other staff needs to undergo a final check on vocabulary, style, consistency and orthography, a.o..
It is vital for the final English text to be impeachable, as it also directly reflects the companies’ business (marketing, communications), apart form it being part of regular professional communications.

To our minds, the task should also involve taking care of overall linguistic and stylistic consistency across all communications, where humanly possible.

REQUIREMENTS

-         Native speakers of English

-         An excellent command of Dutch

-         A feel for marketing lingo and crisp, straightforward English

-         Creative writing skills with attention to detail

-         Proven expertise/experience in editing/vetting, ideally with some translation experience.

-         Good sense of humour (written with “ou”)

-         Flexible approach to work and life in general, but keen to deliver high-quality work

SALARY
- negotiable, also depending on experience

OTHER:

-         full time (40 hrs a week), 9am – 5.30 pm.

-         based in Utrecht, with occasional visits to the client’s premises (travel time around 30 minutes from Utrecht)

-         proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and use of the Internet
